Today I'm going to Barcelona for a long weekend. The excuse? Difusor, an event I found thanks to Maya. On top of that, my 30th was a few weeks ago, so I suppose my family might like to see me. O:)I celebrated my birthday by going with David to play a Go tournament in Azienda Agricola Gradnik (take a look at the pictures), a cellar near Cormòns (Italy), very close to the border with Slovenia (outside the front door there was a sign of "100m to Slovenia"). I didn't do very well in the tournament, but I enjoyed it very much, and the place was absolutely gorgeous! You can find some pictures of the tournament in www.higashikita.go.it. The day of my birthday I went to Venice, before coming back to Dublin.
I would like to post some of my own pictures of the tournament, but unfortunately, I had a very severe crash of my home computer's hard disk, and it seems if I want to retrieve any information, I will have to bring the disk to a Data Recovery Company. :(((
Another event to which I went was the Salsa School 2007 in Maynooth. It was a very good weekend, with plenty of lessons and club dancing. The striking surprise: it was held in the buildings of the School of Theology of the University of Maynooth! It was just flabbergasting... You can find some pictures in Picasa and Flickr, and videos in Youtube.
This Salsa weekend was the perfect excuse to celebrate having done my CAE exam. I won't get the results until next August, but I must say the exam felt quite easy. I think that, unless I committed some major mistakes with serious misunderstandings about what I was being asked, I should pass without any difficulties.
Finally, as a matter of interest, The Jimmy Cake is currently working in their new album, and some of this work has been happening in the kitchen of the place where I live. I had a chance to listen to a few early versions of their new songs, and they are absolutely amazing. I can't wait for the final cut of these songs to come out, as well as for the whole album.
For those who may not be familiar with The Jimmy Cake, here are a couple of videos:

This is a long video (20 minutes) of a talk by Sir Ken Robinson, but it is worth seeing it completely.
